Looking back on my first year in Brazil

It’s official. We moved to Brazil one year ago today! I can’t quite believe how quickly time flies.

In that time I have improved my portuguese, tried many new brazilian dishes, met a seemingly never-ending number of relatives, had a taster of carnaval madness, moved into a new home, explored some more of Brazil’s beautiful coast, started teaching English, taken up Pilates, and begun to understand some of the cultural differences.

I miss my family very much but I feel lucky to have this opportunity to experience a different way of life and to get to know my husband’s family better.

And what better way to celebrate our first year in Brazil than by going to this beautiful place: Fernando de Noronha. Roll on Saturday!
